The Nike Air More Uptempo ’96 ‘Split’ honors the NBA athlete who made the shoe famous. Scottie Pippen memorably achieved two career milestones while wearing the performance hoops shoe in 1996: his fourth NBA championship with the Chicago Bulls and his second Olympic gold medal with Team USA. The two feats are reflected in the shoe’s signature ‘AIR’ lettering, rendered in crimson on the lateral side and navy on the opposite side.
